Responsible for providing process-related support for the molding department in order to achieve robust manufacturing processes, which may include injection molding, thermoforming, extrusion, or CNC workstations. Works to improve manufacturing processes in order to maintain efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability, and maximize profitability.
Role and Responsibilities
- Ensure jobs are set up to run quality parts
- Review Plant Intelligence Center monitors to determine mold change priorities and monitor quality and efficiency
- Set up and start machines following the setup sheets/program for each process, ensuring the product meets customer standards
- Set up secondary equipment and fixtures
- Investigate and determine machine adjustments needed to provide quality parts, correct high scrap rate, improve efficiency, or address other production-related issues
- Provide the finished product as needed for obtaining the first and tenth part approval
- Complete documentation on all work performed, including creation/modification of process setup sheets
- Assist with the training of operators regarding the operation of the machine and secondary equipment
- Perform minor machine repairs or maintenance and communicate machine issues to the supervisor/maintenance team
- Tag molds for tooling enhancement work or repairs
- Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Observe all established safety rules and regulations, including Lock Out Tag Out requirements, and maintain the work area in a neat and orderly condition
Pay Range:
