Enterprise Product sits within Target Tech and is at the center of Target’s transformation to a modern, product-driven, intelligence-powered organization. We partner across Digital, Stores, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Marketing,  Finance, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Technology to build the foundational capabilities and platforms that power differentiated guest, team member, and developer experiences. As we evolve from using AI to running on AI, these platforms and shared services are becoming the critical backbone of how Target operates and innovates at scale.

About the Job:

In this role, you will lead the Developer Platform product management team, shaping the strategy and roadmap for Target’s internal developer ecosystem and cloud and compute platforms. You will own products that power how engineers build, deploy, and operate software at scale, including developer experience, self-service platform capabilities, application runtime environments, and cloud and compute infrastructure. This includes driving improvements in developer productivity, platform adoption, reliability, scalability, and governance, while enabling teams to seamlessly build and run applications across environments. A key focus of this role is simplifying and standardizing how engineering teams interact with infrastructure through intuitive, self-service experiences and AI-powered automation. You will help evolve Target’s platform capabilities to support modern engineering practices, accelerate delivery, and enable intelligent, resilient systems.

This role requires deep partnership across infrastructure, cybersecurity, engineering, UX, data, and operations teams, along with close collaboration with business and technology leaders. We are looking for a strategic, product-oriented leader who can translate complex technical domains into clear product strategies and deliver measurable outcomes in a highly interconnected environment.

As a Product Director, you will set the overall strategic vision for your product space and product team, are accountable for succeeding against identified business outcomes and metrics, will set and manage the product’s budget and financials, set the short and long-term product goals, and quarterly Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).

You will be accountable for building, coaching, and mentoring a strong team of product managers while also building a strong team culture of progress, transparency, and efficiency across product teams.  You will be responsible for elevating your collective team’s performance by providing insightful, motivating, and constructive feedback to all roles on the team while also working with senior leadership and peers across pyramids to negotiate and remove execution-related barriers for your teams.

You will drive product discovery with key stakeholders to validate hypotheses and concepts with customers before committing engineering time, as you lead highly complex work across multiple pyramids, with interrelated specialties.  You will leverage data and analytics to provide competitive analysis, drive decision making, assess the health and effectiveness of your products and related P&L impacts, and to deliver recommendations to key stakeholders.

Core responsibilities of this job are described within this job description. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

About you:

  • 4-year college degree (or equivalent experience)

  • 10+ years of product management experience, including significant experience leading platform, infrastructure, or developer product teams

  • Experience owning strategy and outcomes for internal platforms such as developer tooling, cloud platforms, CI/CD, observability, or enterprise infrastructure products

  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing product teams while fostering a culture of transparency, accountability, and enterprise collaboration

  • Expert in agile product development (e.g., discovery, user stories, iterative development) with experience shaping complex, multi-pyramid initiatives

  • Strategic mindset and bias for action with a strong ability to define OKRs, drive measurable outcomes, and lead data-informed product discovery and delivery

  • Experience delivering AI-powered platform capabilities, intelligent automation, or developer productivity solutions

  • Strong ability to build relationships and align teams across Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Product Engineering, UX, Data, and Technology partners

This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as "Flex for Your Day") work arrangement based on Target's needs.  A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.  A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role may be performed either remote or onsite at a Target location depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
