Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to improving Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) performance in your assigned area of responsibility to cultivate a high-performance culture with a strong focus on HSE. Each day, you will support the business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge and offering solutions and advice. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring effective risk management through HSE excellence along the ABB value chain.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid #LI-Hybrid

This role is contributing to the ABB Motion business for Singapore.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Take full accountability for daytoday HSE execution at ABB sites, workshops, and internal operations, ensuring risk assessments, controls, permits, and safe work practices are effectively implemented and sustained in line with ABB standards and local regulations.

  • Lead the response, investigation, and corrective actions for HSE incidents and noncompliance at ABB sites and directly engage with customers only when escalation is required, including addressing complaints, regulatory concerns, or serious breaches involving ABB employees on customer premises.

  • Hold ABB line managers, supervisors, and employees accountable for HSE responsibilities; ensure workforce competency, training, and use of appropriate equipment through regular site presence, audits, and operational reviews.

  • Lead and implement ABB group and business HSE initiatives at site level, track KPIs, support audits, and execute improvement projects focused on strengthening safety culture, environmental performance, and regulatory compliance across ABB operations.

Qualification:

  • Degree or professional qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline, with recognized HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, ISO 45001/14001 Lead Auditor, or equivalent).

  • Ability to demonstrate your experience in managing Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) from policies, policies, standards, programs, and practices

  • Experienced in embedding an exemplary health and safety culture and a strong focus on the environment across their respective organization.

  • Oversees HSE risk assessment conducted by the line management and ensures all necessary preventive measures against the identified hazards are implemented.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead incident management and escalation handling, including serious incidents, regulatory reporting, and customer‑related escalations involving employee non‑compliance—while maintaining primary focus on internal operations.

  • Strong working knowledge of local HSE legislation and international standards, with hands‑on experience implementing corporate HSE management systems, conducting site audits, and driving compliance through line management.
