Job Summary

The Network Team Lead is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, performance, and development of the network operations team. This role includes leading and managing a team of network engineers, ensuring the reliable and secure operation of all network systems, and driving the design, implementation, and optimization of network solutions.

The Network Team Lead will work closely with other IT teams and business lines to align strategies, manage resources effectively, and ensure the delivery of high-quality service to support the organization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead deployment, troubleshooting, and maintenance of High-Performance Computing network infrastructure
  • Provide network capacity planning recommendations in line with anticipated operational growth
  • Act as escalation point for complex technical issues
  • Ensure smooth production operations by careful planning and coordinated changes
  • Provide excellent customer service to various internal and external clients
  • Coach and mentor junior engineering staff to empower growth and team cohesion
  • Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to deliver support and recommendations regarding network technologies
  • Provide detailed and accurate documentation on network designs and standards
  • Lead local, regional, and global networking projects
  • Participate in the regional on-call support rotation
  • Travel domestically or internationally as required on a limited basis

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of overall experience installing and supporting High Performance Computing systems and architectures for global companies
  • 5+ years of experience leading technical teams, with responsibility for managing a team of direct reports.
  • Deep understanding and experience with data center network architectures (spine and leaf) and protocols (VXLAN, EVPN, BGP, MLAG)
  • Knowledge of modern data center fiber optic cabling and connector standards
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Familiarity with network automation frameworks and programming languages (Ansible, Python, etc.)

Desired Skills

  • Experience supporting hardware and software in a multi-vendor environment
  • Experience with OpenStack cloud computing infrastructure
  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems, virtualization, and containerization technologies
  • Experience supporting Software Defined Networks (SD-WAN)
  • Deployment knowledge or experience managing security products (Firewall, IPS/IDS)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • CCNP or equivalent networking experience
