Overview

We are hiring!  We are seeking an energetic, highly motivated, and detail-oriented self-starter to join our geospatial team as a Senior GIS Analyst in our Ft. Lauderdale office. Our ideal candidate will have education and experience with geospatial analysis, mapping processes, GIS software and technologies.

Under supervision, performs standard geographic information system (GIS) work while developing professional proficiency. Will work with an interdisciplinary group of GIS analysts, developers, and project managers out of client offices in Ft. Lauderdale (not remote).

Your role

  • Assist the Program Services section with the administration and maintenance of on premises ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online.
  • Serve as the point of contact for various GIS projects/assignments.
  • Assist the Program Services section with maintaining the GIS applications, servers, layers, and feature classes for all FDOT District Four offices.
  • Attend requirement gathering and GIS coordination meetings.
  • Define project tasks and execute on those tasks.
  • Work with existing ArcGIS databases, datasets and applications to develop an understanding of their use and integration capabilities.
  • Develop solutions to ArcGIS needs using a combination of tools including app builders (ArcGIS Instant Apps, ArcGIS Dashboards, ArcGIS StoryMaps, and ArcGIS Experience Builder).
  • Work with FDOT ArcGIS Users developers, etc. to understand data landscape and needs.
  • Conducts data gathering, conversion and analysis of GIS data, prepares data documentation or metadata for GIS Projects, prepares maps and exhibits with GIS data sets, and participates in client needs analyses.
  • Maintains continued knowledge of technology developments in the GIS field and use of GIS software.
  • Performs such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
  • Write clear technical documentation to support data development work.
  • Collaborate with technical and nontechnical staff to understand client GIS needs .
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the FDOT Manager.

About you

  • B.A. or B.S. or M.S. in Geography, computer science, or GIS-related environmental discipline.
  • 4 years of experience required with bachelor’s degree; 3 year of experience required with master’s degree.
  • Candidates without a B.S. or B.A. in Geography, Computer Science or related GIS Environmental Discipline will be considered with significant job experience related to job duties and requirements.
  • Esri ArcGIS Desktop or Pro experience. Tools like ArcCatalog, ArcMap, and ArcPro
  • Esri ArcGIS Geodatabase experience.
  • This position is focused on GIS support and the candidate must have knowledge of the following languages: SQL & Python
  • Candidate must be detail oriented.
  • Candidate must have good communication skills.

Expected compensation range is between $83k-$120k annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
