Finishing Level II Team Member

Position Summary

As a Finishing Department Level II Team Member, you will operate and support finishing equipment to produce high-quality components that meet or exceed customer specifications. This includes setup, operation, inspection, and troubleshooting of Blanchard grinding equipment and posses the skills to be cross trained as required and/or needed.

Primary Duties Will Include

• Follow all safety policies and procedures to produce quality parts

• Operate finishing equipment including Blanchard grinders and other departmental equipment as needed.  

• Set up machines, secure parts, and adjust settings to meet required tolerances

• Monitor grinding operations and make necessary adjustments to ensure part quality

• Perform in-process and final inspections using:

  • Height gauges

  • Micrometers

  • Calipers

  • Pin, thread, and feeler gauges

• Read and interpret work instructions, job travelers, and technical drawings

• Report quality issues and support troubleshooting efforts with team members and team leads

• Complete inspection documentation and production paperwork accurately

• Perform basic preventative maintenance and maintain a clean work area

• Utilize forklifts and other material handling equipment to move parts safely

Expectations & Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below represent the knowledge, skill, and ability required:

• Mechanical aptitude and machine operation experience

• Experience with grinding equipment (Blanchard preferred)

• Ability to read and interpret prints and specifications

• Strong attention to detail and quality

• High level of initiative and willingness to learn new skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

• Ability to push/pull heavy loads using carts, hoists, or lift assist equipment

• Forklift experience preferred but not required
