How you will make an impact:
Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Cost Accountant III in Costa Rica. The Cost Accountant will be a key partner and support all businesses in setting accurate standard costs for new SKUs and ensuring that new inventory is valued correctly on the Balance Sheet.
What you will do:
Set new SKUs standard costs in different ERP systems for North America and EMEA in accordance with corporate policies and generally accepted accounting principles. Support APAC regions in setting new SKU standard costs as a backup.
Actively seek out and implement process improvements for new SKU costing. Collaborate with the EMEA and APAC regions to share best practices and explore global solutions to new SKU costing.
Build reporting templates and perform ad hoc analyses as assigned by the Finance Director, Ops Finance, or the businesses.
Perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
How will you get here:
Requirements:
Accounting bachelor’s degree or 6 years of experience in similar positions.
B2+ English Level
Experience in Cost Accounting and Manufacturing is preferred.
Experience in JD Edwards and SAP ERP systems is required, preferably in Costing
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Proficiency in Excel advanced formulas and PowerPoint
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to interface effectively at all levels and demonstrate good judgment, and tact and diplomacy with internal customers. Self-initiative, strong organization skills, and a positive attitude are helpful.
Experience working in a matrixed organization is preferred.
Minimal travel required.
