About the Role
As a Maintenance Planner at Atlas Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, you will support plant reliability and operational excellence by planning, scheduling, and coordinating preventative and reactive maintenance activities. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring maintenance work is properly scoped, resourced, prioritized, and documented to maximize equipment uptime and reduce operational disruptions. This role is onsite and located in Harrow, Ontario.

What You’ll Do

  • Promote and enforce a safe, healthy work environment in accordance with ESA, MOL, and Company safety policies and procedures such as LOTO and Arc Flash.

  • Analyze preventative maintenance (PM) criteria using MTBF and MTTR metrics to reduce breakdowns and failures.

  • Create and maintain detailed maintenance plans and tasks based on OEM requirements and equipment performance history.

  • Evaluate and adjust PM duration, frequency, and content to improve equipment reliability.

  • Review PM findings and ensure corrective plans are implemented to prevent operational failures.

  • Schedule and assign maintenance work in coordination with operations and maintenance staff.

  • Review and log all work orders in SAP and track performance trends.

  • Coordinate and confirm availability of safety resources, tools, equipment, parts, technical skill sets, time, and vendors prior to scheduling work.

  • Set work order priorities based on safety, quality, available resources, equipment production needs, cost, and vendor availability.

  • Review and analyze breakdown work to determine root cause and whether repairs are temporary or permanent.

  • Adjust PM plans based on breakdown analysis to reduce future failures.

  • Ensure work orders contain sufficient detail for historical reference and reporting.

  • Manage monthly fiscal breakdown work orders and generate cost-by-equipment reports.

  • Create, schedule, and complete work orders for facility and production-related requests.

  • Coordinate facility repairs with internal teams and external suppliers.

  • Develop detailed shut down plans for biannual plant shutdowns and major projects.

  • Define scope, cost estimates, resources, and scheduling priorities for shutdown activities.

  • Manage SAP notifications and work orders daily to prevent backlog.

  • Create purchase requisitions for non-stocked materials and services.

  • Track internal and external repairs to ensure timely completion.

  • Lead team meetings to support effective planning and scheduling.

  • Perform continuous improvement and root cause analysis initiatives.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of this role.

Who You Are

  • Mechanical or Electrical Trade License; mechanical bias preferred.

  • Broad experience with CMMS systems; SAP PM preferred.

  • Extensive knowledge of steel tube manufacturing processes and equipment.

  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.

  • CMRP or MMP designation preferred; willingness to obtain within 2½ years if not already certified.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Proficiency with MS 360, SAP, and related systems.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform work in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical plant-related activities.

  • Willingness to travel to other Company locations as needed.

Compensation & Benefits

Below is the expected base salary range for this position. This is a good-faith estimate, and offers will be determined based on experience, education, skill set, and interview performance.

Base Salary Range:
[$74,000—$130,000 CAD]

Additional compensation may include:
