Purpose

To support current and prospective pre-health students at UT Austin and to assist with administrative and marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Student Support: Maintain confidentiality about all students’ academic and personal information in accordance with university and federal policies and regulations. Meet with pre-health students to guide pre-health pathways, prerequisites, and in navigating the health professions office website. Refer students to appropriate campus resources and offices as needed.
  • Presentations & Outreach: Develop and present on pre-health topics in collaboration with the Health Professions Coaches. Conduct virtual visits with prospective high school students. Represent the Health Professions Office by tabling or participating in student panels at campus events.
  • Administrative & Marketing: Support office operations, including managing Zoom rooms. Create promotional materials using Canva Pro for HPO Marketing. Assist with special projects such as updating boards, the HPO website, and other materials.
  • Events: Staff at the annual Health Professions Fair and other HPO events as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.7 required & GPA must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Must be a rising junior or senior at the University of Texas at Austin
  • Must be registered for at least 12 credit hours.
  • Must be pursuing a pre-health pathway.
  • Must have completed Organic Chemistry I
  • Must be available to start training in July 2026 (and work Fall 2026 through the end of Spring 2027)

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Salary Range

$11.00 per hour

Working Conditions

  • Must have access to a computer with wireless capabilities.
  • Must have access to a stable internet connection.
  • Must have access to a quiet workspace for virtual meetings.
  • Prolonged sitting and computer use

Work Shift

10 to 12 Hours between M-F, 8-5 pm, some evenings and weekends may be required.
