About the Role
The HRIS Engineer is the hands-on technical owner of HRIS, responsible for configuration, integrations, reporting, and overall system health. This role ensures HRIS operates reliably, scales cleanly, and adheres to established architectural and governance standards.
This is a senior individual contributor role with deep system access, operating as the primary internal technical expert for HRIS.
What You'll Do
Configure and maintain HRIS business processes, calculated fields, security groups, and reports
Own and support HRIS integrations (payroll, benefits, finance, ATS, identity and access management)
Execute complex data operations, including Enterprise Interface Builder, mass updates, and validation
Partner with IT on SSO, provisioning, and downstream system dependencies
Independently troubleshoot and resolve Tier 2 / Tier 3 issues
Test, deploy, and document changes across HRIS tenants
Support HRIS releases and upgrades
Design, maintain, and secure HRIS access and data flows in partnership with IT and Security, including Workday security groups, role-based access, and integration credential management
Maintain technical documentation, configuration standards, and reusable patterns
What You Need
5–8+ years of hands-on HRIS experience
Deep configuration expertise across core HRIS modules
Strong experience with integrations, reporting, and security
Comfortable operating autonomously in a production environment
Strong judgment around scalability and long-term maintainability
Post-implementation ownership experience strongly preferred
