About the role

The Office of Engagement is seeking a creative and motivated student to support the design of direct marketing print materials and digital assets for email campaigns, social media, and web platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design within established brand standards and help evolve existing visual assets.
  • Create print and digital materials, including adapting print designs for digital campaigns.
  • Develop and maintain Canva templates for recurring use.
  • Collaborate on marketing campaigns aimed at engaging alumni, parents, and encouraging annual giving.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, with proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Familiarity with Canva and Adobe After Effects is a plus.
  • Strong interest in graphic design and marketing.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn and collaborate with a creative team.
     

Eligibility:

  • Must be a current University of Virginia student.
  • Must be eligible for student employment and Federal Work Study.

     

This position reports to the Assistant Director of Graphic Design.

Anticipated Assignment Dates: September 21, 2026 - May 14, 2027

Position Compensation: $19.50 Hourly

Location: Old Ivy Hall, Charlottesville, VA
