Job Summary

We’re hiring a Staff Backend Engineer to design and evolve the distributed systems powering Kaseya’s SaaS platform. This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on building scalable backend services, improving platform reliability, and enabling AI-powered product capabilities. You’ll partner with Product, Data, Platform, and Engineering teams to deliver production-ready systems that support high-volume customer workloads.

Roles & Responsibilities

Design and build scalable backend services for a multi-tenant SaaS platform
Architect distributed systems supporting high-volume transactional and event-driven workloads
Design APIs, service integrations, and messaging patterns that support platform scalability and reliability
Improve observability, monitoring, performance, and operational readiness across production systems
Partner with Data and ML teams to integrate AI-powered capabilities into customer-facing workflows
Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and reliability improvement initiatives
Lead technical design reviews and contribute to long-term platform architecture decisions
Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices across teams

Required Qualifications

8+ years of software engineering experience building production systems
Experience designing and operating distributed systems in a cloud environment
Experience building backend services using Go, Java, Python, Node.js/TypeScript, Rust, or similar technologies
Experience designing APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures
Experience working with AWS, Azure, or GCP

Preferred Qualifications

Experience operating systems supporting large-scale or high-volume workloads
Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, or Pub/Sub
Experience with observability platforms such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry
Experience leading platform modernization or large-scale architecture initiatives
Experience integrating AI or machine learning capabilities into production systems
Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical design reviews
Experience working with relational databases and distributed caching technologies
