Senior Associate, CAD Specialist
The Village Housing CAD Draftsperson Senior Associate supports the Village Management team by developing, updating, and maintaining accurate CAD drawings and maps for housing and operational spaces and site plans in the Olympic and Paralympic Villages and Grooms Accommodation. This role plays a key part in translating existing conditions site and floor plans into an Olympic Village planning approach, ensuring that space allocations, adaptations, and operational requirements are clearly reflected in all drawings and presentation documents.
Reporting to the Allotment Manager, who is responsible for the assignment of residential and operational spaces to National Committees staying in the Village this position collaborates closely with internal functional areas and external stakeholders to collect, validate, and integrate spatial data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate existing conditions site and floor plans into Olympic and Paralympic Villages and Groom Accommodation CAD drawings, following the established Village planning and drawing approach.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to collect, validate, and integrate spatial and operational data into drawings and maps.
- Reflect agreed adaptations and changes in CAD drawings based on stakeholder requirements and planning decisions.
- Verify on-site measurements and venue dimensions to ensure accuracy of drawings and spatial representations.
- Support the preparation and updating of Early Allotment documents, including site and floor plans, maps, and supporting documents and visual presentations.
- Proactively suggest opportunities to optimize the use of existing internal and external spaces while respecting operational and accessibility requirements.
- Provide drawing and mapping support to other Village-related projects as required, even when not directly related to the core allotment scope.
- Collaborate with the Allotment team in the assignment process of housing and operational spaces for NOCs and NPCs.
- Develop PowerPoint presentations, planning documents, reports, and other materials required by the Village team.
- Provide general support as needed, including administrative and non-administrative tasks.
Background & Requirements:
- 4+ years of professional experience
- Proven experience producing and managing CAD drawings and presentation documents, preferably for large venues, residential complexes, or event-related projects.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar); experience with mapping and space-planning tools is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with measurements, layouts, and technical drawings.
- Ability to interpret planning requirements and translate them into clear visual representations.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and revisions simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); ability to support presentation and document preparation.
- Flexibility to support a range of tasks beyond core CAD responsibilities as project needs evolve.
- Experience with large-scale event planning is an asset but not required.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- This role is based in our Los Angeles office, and work is primarily conducted in an office environment with frequent site visits to village locations.
- Must be able to navigate large residential and operational zones, including during Games-time conditions.
