Reporting to the Vice President of People Development & Culture, the Director of Community Care Strategy is responsible for providing enterprise‑level leadership for Nebraska Medicine’s approach to community‑based care delivery, access expansion, and utilization management. This role sits at the intersection of community health, clinical strategy, and operational decision‑making, with a specific focus on translating community needs and vulnerability data into care models that measurably improve access, reduce avoidable emergency department utilization, and advance health equity. The Director is accountable for shaping and executing a system‑wide community care strategy that aligns with Community Health Needs Assessment priorities, market and utilization trends, and long‑term service distribution goals. This includes designing scalable care pathways, guiding pilot initiatives, and embedding community‑based strategies into enterprise planning and performance management. This role serves as a strategic integrator and advisor to senior leaders, ensuring community‑centered initiatives are clinically aligned, operationally viable, financially responsible, and grounded in trust with community partners. The Director also provides leadership and direction to community impact functions that support navigation, outreach, and community engagement, ensuring continuity of relationships while elevating the work toward measurable system outcomes.

Required Qualifications: Director Community Care Strategy

  • Master’s degree required (MPH, MHA, MBA, or related field).
  • 7–10 years of progressive healthcare strategy or population health experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate community needs into operational care models.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mixed methods assessment practices

Preferred Qualifications: Director Community Care Strategy

  • Experience working with community leaders with various socioeconomic backgrounds preferred. 
  • Experience building relationships among community charities and corporate leaders in the Omaha area preferred. 
  • Direct experience in a clinical environment preferred. 
  • Experience with community health improvement strategies preferred.
