The Reference Data Services Analyst 1 is a trainee professional role. Requires a good knowledge of the range of processes, procedures and systems to be used in carrying out assigned tasks and a basic understanding of the underlying concepts and principles upon which the job is based. Good understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area. Makes evaluative judgements based on the analysis of factual information. They are expected to resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and will be guided by precedents. Must be able to exchange information in a concise and logical way as well as be sensitive to audience diversity. Limited but direct impact on the business through the quality of the tasks/services provided. Impact of the job holder is restricted to own job.
The role will be within the Sanctions Screening team under Accounts and Standard Settlement Instructions Operations. This group is primarily responsible for the accurate review and investigation of alerts generated for reference data across strategic applications within Data and Regulatory Operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform comprehensive investigations and disposition of sanctions screening alerts, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders, including Sanctions ICRM, AML, Compliance, and Risk & Control teams, to support day-to-day operations, issue resolution, and risk mitigation activities.
- Apply strong analytical and risk assessment skills to business decisions, safeguarding Citi's reputation, clients, and assets through adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and ethical business practices. Escalate and manage control issues promptly and transparently.
- Demonstrate the ability to excel in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment, balancing multiple priorities while contributing to process enhancements, operational excellence, and a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work accurately and maintain high-quality standards in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of risk management, controls, and compliance requirements.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with confidence in interacting with stakeholders and management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel; knowledge of MS Access is an advantage.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, including the ability to work effectively with global teams.
- Demonstrates accountability, ownership, and a results-oriented mindset.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, investigate root causes, and escalate concerns when appropriate.

- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
