Job Description:

OFFICE ASSISTANT III

Contribute to the strategic direction of the business and support impactful mission outcomes as an Office Assistant III at GDIT. Here, you’ll enable the success of the most critical government missions and the growth of a meaningful career in Administration.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As an Office Assistant III, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC). You will play a crucial role in supporting the Naval fleet, modernize systems, track inventory, and organize data. Specifically

  • Build spreadsheets to track and manage multiple tasks and prepare a weekly report to be submitted and reviewed by program lead.

  • Compile and prepare minutes from weekly meetings capturing salient points of discussion, tasks due, and questions raised.

  • Track, ship, and log various items that enter and leave the facility.  In support of Inventory. 

  • Perform analytical tasks supporting the SSTD program involving new construction ships.

  • Participate in special projects/contracts and meetings as required.

  • Interact regularly with customers and industry representatives. Maintain communications with stakeholders at different levels and departments across the organization including external stakeholders and vendors. 

  • Maintain and update databases to support trouble tickets, including creating, updating, tracking, and closing tickets as required.

  • Utilize MSOffice suite, particularly Excel and Access.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your administrative expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Office Assistant III must have:
● Education: Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience.
● Experience: 3+ years of related experience
● Technical skills: MS Office Suite, specifically well skilled in Excel and very familiar with Access.
● Security clearance level: SECRET
● US citizenship required
● Role requirements: On site at St. Juliens Creek Annex, Portsmouth, VA

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $23.30 - $29.90. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
