Raytheon has exciting opportunities for two (2) Senior Manager, Contracts leadership roles.  We are looking for experienced candidates to lead the two following Contracts teams and portfolio of programs: 1) Deep Strike™/Deep Fires™ and 2) Raytheon Javelin Joint Venture (JV) Production. Both Deep Strike™/Deep Fires™ and the Raytheon Javelin JV reside within the Precision Fires & Maneuver Sub-Strategic Business Unit (SSBU) within Land & Air Defense Systems (LADS) in Tucson, AZ.  These positions will provide the necessary Contracts leadership to both the Contracts teams as well as capture and program teams.  These roles require adeptness at developing and maintaining strong, credible, and productive relationships with both partners and Customers.  Deep Strike™/Deep Fires™ is the growth engine of the Long Range Precision Fires directorate, providing innovative technologies to the US Army, while the Javelin JV continues next generation development and ramp production to provide critical warfighting capability to the US Army and allies.  These portfolios are comprised of FAR based procurement contracts for the US and Foreign Military Sale (FMS) Customers, as well as Other Transaction Authority (OTA) Agreements, and growth into Direct Commercial Sale (DCS) markets. 

In these role, the successful candidates will have immediate supervisory responsibility over a team of Contracts Professionals, responsible for their growth and development, as well as leading the front-end of the business assessments and strategy development, supporting the development and execution of sound capture and negotiations strategies, internal and external customer relationships, ensuring contracting actions are proactively supportive of the business’s long range financial planning, and tactical / foundational contracting knowledge of the team is sound. Both opportunities are onsite in Tucson, AZ

What You Will Do 

  • Effectively communicate with internal and external senior level customers and partners to establish mutually beneficial relationships, resolve complex and multi-faceted problems, and influence business decisions; including advising of contractual rights and obligations and means to mitigate business, contractual, and/ or program risks

  • Apply strong aptitude for contract negotiations with the ability to understand the financial aspects for overall business interests - contracts and other business arrangements

  • Contribute to strategy regarding growth paths and creative solutions

  • Some travel, up to ~25% to Customer and partner sites, primarily to Huntsville, AL, is required

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years' experience

  • Experience in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) / Department of Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS) contracting

  • Experience in the development of Contracts professionals, which may include direct supervisory responsibility, coaching, mentoring, and/ or teaching/training

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Excellent collaboration and leadership skills; demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and build effective relationships based on respect and trust

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Cross functional experience (Pricing, Finance, Procurement)

  • FMS, DCS, OTA and/ or Commercial contracting in Aerospace and Defense experience

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships with customers and internal partners based on understanding, teamwork, and trust

  • Professional, effective written, and verbal communication skills to interface with all levels of internal and external customers; thorough analytical skills; excellent interpersonal skills; be adaptable to a variety of business situations

  • Experience working in an exciting environment and ability to multi-task across multiple programs and demonstrated record of responsiveness with excellent time management and organization skills

  • Juris Doctor or MBA a plus

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
