Section 1: Position Summary
The Senior Manager Process Owner of Trust reconciliations for Defined Contribution, Defined Benefit, and/or Cash Balance plans reconciliation and in annual compliance. Specific processes include but are not limited to receipt of asset statements across record keepers, brokerage and asset holders, coordination and delivery of project/work tasks, aligning trust reconciliation tasks with key compliance deliverables, forecast and communicate productivity and delivery dates, identify and lead automation to improve cycle time and quality; create/refine key performance indicators and establish reporting dashboards for all internal audiences. In this management position, it is the manager’s responsibility to see that all related processes are completed accurately and in the time frame specified.
Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.
- Develop and deliver accurate and timely analysis and reporting to senior management
- Oversee critical Trust reconciliation process including daily production across onshore and global teams, asset statement capture and conversion (automation focused); asset reconciliation by month or most efficient timeframe by plan type to maximize trust completion, workflow alignment with key compliance deliverables
- Responsible for establishing effective quality control environment including new client setup on the Trust system (method-cash/accrual, asset holder, frequency, assignment), as well as accuracy of client trust reconciliation
- Develop and maintain process standards across all plan types requiring trust asset reconciliation
- Support team and management in the identification and handling of escalated items/calls from clients, with responsibility for ultimate resolution of the escalated item
- Act in the role as the subject matter expert, as needed, in conjunction with the Training & Development Team
- Affect change via automation efforts -Have an understanding of the current operational procedures to know when certain processes change, how that may affect another department and be able to work with that leader to review and resolve possible conflicts.

Supervision
- Provide feedback/solutions to team lead(s) to minimize risk and improve processes
- Supervise the Contribution and Distribution department staff, which includes periodic reviews, professional development, and constructive feedback
Section 3: Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 8 years of supervisory experience in a finance related industry with retirement service industry preferred
- In depth knowledge of Windows-based programs such as Excel and Word
- The ability to communicate effectively (clear, concise, and professionally) with all levels within the Ascensus organization, as well as with our client base
- Excellent presentation skills, telephone etiquette and professionalism, client service skills and time management proficiency
- Strong time management skills
- Excellent analytical, technical, creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a team environment to ensure a common goal of providing exceptional customer service
- Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
- Ability to work well under pressure with multiple priorities and deadlines in a high stress environment
- Ability to manage a team and/or project successfully across Management/Leadership/People Development/Training/Change management
