About the Team

Mixpanel’s Product organization is built on small, autonomous pods — engineering, product, and design working side by side with direct access to customer data, feedback, and business metrics. We operate from first principles, challenge assumptions, and bias toward simple, elegant solutions. Product owns execution end to end.

The Product Platform team’s mission is to make Mixpanel easy to manage, secure, compliant, and built on a reliable foundation. The team runs two engineering tracks: a server infrastructure and application security track, and an enterprise management and UI track. Together they own the systems that every Mixpanel customer — and every internal product team — depends on.

About the Role

As Mixpanel scales into the enterprise, the platform that underpins how customers manage, secure, and control their Mixpanel environment becomes increasingly strategic. This isn’t a role about a single feature or workflow — it’s about the foundational systems that determine whether a 500-person company trusts us with their data and their organizational complexity.

The Senior PM, Platform will own Mixpanel’s core enterprise management surface: RBAC and permissions, SSO and passkeys, authentication services, bulk user and workspace management, audit logs, admin controls, and settings UX. You’ll be the PM for the systems that enterprise IT and security teams evaluate when deciding whether to standardize on Mixpanel.

This role requires someone who thinks in systems, understands the security and compliance requirements of enterprise customers, and knows how to build trust — with engineering, with customers, and with the cross-functional teams that depend on platform stability. If you’re energized by infrastructure that quietly powers everything and occasionally takes center stage during a security review, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

Own the Enterprise Platform Roadmap

  • Define and drive the roadmap for Mixpanel’s enterprise management surface — RBAC, SSO/passkeys, auth services, audit logs, admin controls, bulk user management, and settings UX
  • Develop a principled view of what the platform must guarantee (security, compliance, reliability) vs. what can be iterative — and sequence investments accordingly
  • Anticipate requirements from enterprise customers, internal security reviews, and compliance obligations; design ahead of the ask rather than reacting to it
  • Build business cases for platform investments, making the indirect ROI of security and compliance work legible to leadership
  • Establish operating cadence and governance across the two engineering tracks: align dependencies, create clear owners, and ensure predictable delivery

Lead with Curiosity and Disciplined Discovery

  • Approach every platform problem with structured curiosity: frame clear hypotheses, test assumptions with lightweight experiments, and evaluate second-order effects before committing
  • Stay directly connected to enterprise customers and security-facing stakeholders (Sales, CS, Legal) to understand how platform limitations show up in real deals and renewals
  • Synthesize signal from security reviews, compliance inquiries, support tickets, and customer interviews into clear, prioritized product proposals

Drive Cross-Team Platform Integrity

  • Own the consistency and reliability of shared authentication, permissions, and admin patterns across Mixpanel’s product portfolio — ensure every product team builds on a stable, well-governed foundation
  • Partner with engineering leads to define clear APIs, auth contracts, and permission interfaces that prevent hidden depend
