Thursday - Thursday
Training Schedule:
Week 1: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Weeks 2 - 4: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
After training: transition to regular shift (8:00 PM - 6:00 AM)

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team and support patients in our inpatient setting. Phlebotomists are vital members of our healthcare team, and we’re looking for individuals who excel in technical skills while also fostering a positive work environment and providing an exceptional experience for our patients. Priority consideration given to applicants that have phlebotomy work experience or have taken a phlebotomy course with hands-on training.

Duties: Inpatient Phlebotomist
Responsible for collection and transportation of patient specimens for clinical laboratory testing adhering to department identification policies. Perform, evaluate, and report patient specimens using point-of-care instrumentation. Demonstrate behavioral skills that contribute to a productive work environment, represent the lab in a professional manner, and provide excellent customer service. May process and distribute patient specimen for clinical laboratory testing.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum of 18 years of age required.
• High school education or equivalent required.
• Effective written and oral communication skills required.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility required.
• Computer experience required.
• Attention to detail required.
• Ability to multitask required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Direct patient care experience or completion of a phlebotomy course or phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification PBT (ASCP) preferred.
