The Application Integration Engineer is responsible for the development, implementation, and operational support of FIX integration solutions and Order Trade Flows on the company’s Financial Messaging Infrastructure (BCOM). The role includes project participation, customer onboarding, monitoring and automation initiatives (meshIQ), and collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.YOUR CHALLENGE
Role Responsibilities:
FIX & Messaging Integration
Develop, configure, and maintain FIX integrations using ITIVI APPIA FIX, IBM MQ, and IBM ACE
Configure FIX sessions, protocol parameters, and connectivity for clients, brokers, and exchanges
Develop and maintain message flows within the existing middleware architecture
Design, coordinate, and execute FIX certification tests for onboarding clients and exchanges
Engineering & Project Support
Support project requests from the Markets environment (Front Office, Trading, Brokerage)
Analyze new client-specific requirements and design corresponding integration solutions
Perform detailed root‑cause analysis in the event of production incidents
Provide technical expertise during the client onboarding process
Operations & On‑Call Duty
Ensure stable and continuous operation of the FIX and MQ messaging landscape
Contribute to monitoring and automation initiatives using meshIQ products
Participate in the team’s rotating 24/7 on‑call service
YOUR PROFILE
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science (university or university of applied sciences), or equivalent proven technical expertise
Technical Skills:
5+ years of hands‑on experience with the FIX protocol, including deep knowledge of Order/Trade Flows, FIX-Engine and Frameworks
Solid Linux proficiency
Programming skills in at least one language: ESQL, Bash, Perl, Java
Strong experience with MQ client/broker connectivity and related industry standards
Proven expertise in developing integration solutions in a banking environment using: IBM MQ, IBM Integration Bus (IIB), IBM ACE
Experience with client and exchange connectivity in financial markets
Good understanding of key financial products (Equities, FX, Derivatives)
Knowledge of SWIFT (ISO20022 / MT / MX) is considered an advantage
Soft Skills:
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Analytical mindset with structured problem‑solving capabilities
Ability to work independently in both project environments and 24/7 operational settings
Service‑oriented attitude and readiness to take ownership of technical issues
