Cambridge Mobile Telematics
Job Description
Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT) is the world’s largest telematics service provider. Its mission is to make the world’s roads and drivers safer. The company’s AI-driven platform, DriveWell® Fusion, gathers sensor data from millions of IoT devices — including smartphones, proprietary Tags, connected vehicles, dashcams, and third-party devices — and fuses them with contextual data to create a unified view of vehicle and driver behavior. Auto insurers, automakers, commercial mobility companies, and the public sector use insights from CMT’s platform to power risk assessment, safety, claims, and driver improvement programs. Headquartered in Cambridge, MA, with offices in Budapest, Chennai, Seattle, Tokyo, and Zagreb, CMT measures and protects tens of millions of drivers across the world every day.
CMT is looking for a collaborative, customer-committed, and creative Product Management Intern who wants to join us in making roads safer by making drivers better!
We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our Commercial Mobility team and help us figure out what's next. You'll dig into how insurers, fleet managers, and telematics providers operate today, where the gaps are, and where AI-powered tools can deliver real value. This isn't a "sit in meetings and take notes" internship — you'll do real research, shape real product thinking, and work alongside PMs, engineers, designers, and analysts in a collaborative, dynamic, and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Research the commercial auto insurance and fleet telematics landscape — who the players are, how their products work, what's missing, and where the market is heading
- Evaluate fleet management platforms, data aggregators, and mobility solutions (software, hardware, IoT) — map their capabilities and gaps to inform our product strategy
- Dig into how insurers, fleet managers, and owner-operators actually use telematics today and identify where customer-focused AI tools can improve value delivery
- Support product discovery — help us identify customer problems, unmet needs, and new product opportunities grounded in data
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners (engineering, design, sales, analytics) and external customers to validate findings and contribute to roadmap decisions
- Shadow Product Management, Design, and Analytics to learn how high-performing product teams solve problems from end to end &nb
