Description

You will be working on the KC-30A and the C-27J aircrafts that directly support the Australian Defence Force. These platforms are critical to keeping operations moving, delivering heavy airlift into complex environments and enabling aircraft to stay airborne longer without needing to land.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll be hands on across either avionics, structural or mechanical systems, executing scheduled, unscheduled and defect maintenance as part of a high performing team.

You won't be boxed into one narrow task. You’ll be trusted to diagnose, fix, and deliver aircraft back to service, safely and on schedule.

We know what drives our AME’s: technical mastery, real ownership of their work, and ongoing growth. That’s why we provide a consistent, supportive environment where you can apply and deepen your expertise on advanced aircraft every day.

Why AMEs choose Northrop Grumman:

  • 4-day work week - more time off without compromising your career

  • Real team culture - a tight knit crew with an active social club, regular BBQ's and people who actually enjoy coming to work

  • Fast tracked career progression - opportunities to move into cyber, technical services, or broader engineering roles

  • Education support - we invest in you, reimbursing further study, licenses and ongoing development

  • See the impact of your work - the aircraft you maintain support real missions, often recognized in the media

  • Work alongside the squadron - not disconnected maintenance, but integrated operational support

  • On-site facilities - free gym access, plus pool and tennis courts on site

  • We back our people - from licensing to long term career growth, we invest into our team

What we Offer:

  • 18 weeks paid parental leave

  • 2 Weeks Paid Reservist leave

  • 15 days personal paid leave

  • Health, Wellbeing and Generous Employee discount programs

  • Additional purchased annual and salary packaging option

  • Ongoing career progression opportunities- leadership development, education support, ongoing career growth through internal movement.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A cert IV in Aeroskills

  • The ability to hold and maintain a AGSVA security clearance

  • Demonstrate competency of aircraft systems, AMD and local work instructions
