CAD Engineer
As an Astranis CAD Engineer you will design, develop, configure, and maintain spacecraft components and assemblies like bracketry, harnesses, propulsion manifolds, and waveguides. You must have a strong problem-solving background, an enthusiasm for novel design, and designing in complex systems. Experience with spacecraft is a benefit but is not required.
Role
- Model and draw components, structures, and manifolds for the spacecraft and its supporting structures
- Works with the management of top-level spacecraft assemblies in CAD, as well as create and maintain BOMs in the transfer to production
- Check and review engineering drawings
- Develop, ideate, and document considerate practices that enable good and efficient design
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing and hiring additional teammates to our rapidly-growing team
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in a design role
- Experience with SolidWorks
- Experience with GD+T and engineering drawings
- A passion for hardware development, including working in a fast-paced environment with hands-on development
Bonus
- Expertise of SolidWorks and PDM Administration
- Experience with design of complex assemblies and components
- Experience in the design of spaceflight components and/or vacuum compatible systems
- Experience with surface modeling
