Omni-Channel Planning Senior Manager
Role Summary
The Omni-Channel Planning Senior Manager supports the Omni-Channel Planning Director in translating category and brand strategies into integrated omni-channel plans across offline and eCommerce channels.
This role works closely with Marketing, Trade Marketing and Sales teams to support cross-channel growth planning, activity planning and category management initiatives. It helps ensure strategy-to-execution consistency through coordinated planning, KPI tracking, performance analysis and timely follow-up on key actions.
The role is expected to bring a strong understanding of China’s omni-channel environment, shopper and channel dynamics, and support the development of practical, insight-led plans that can be effectively deployed across channels.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support omni-channel category planning
- Support the Omni-Channel Planning Director in converting category and brand ambition, shopper insights and channel dynamics into annual omni-channel plans and rolling quarterly priorities.
- Prepare planning inputs, business analysis, channel insights and performance reviews to support strategic choices, KPI setting and milestone tracking.
- Coordinate with Marketing, Trade Marketing and Sales to ensure planning assumptions, priorities and execution requirements are clearly aligned.
- Track progress against agreed plans and highlight risks, gaps and opportunities with recommended follow-up actions.
2. Support category management guidance and execution standards
- Support the development and deployment of category management guidance, including assortment, visibility, in-store layout, shelf layout and customer/channel execution principles.
- Work with Sales and Trade Marketing teams to ensure execution standards are practical, clear and consistently applied across key customers and channels.
- Consolidate market feedback and execution learnings to support continuous improvement of category management standards.
3. Drive pricing, promotion and performance tracking support
- Support the development of omni-channel pricing and promotion plans in line with brand and category guidelines.
- Conduct performance analysis on promotion effectiveness, channel performance, ROI and execution quality.
- Maintain scorecards, dashboards and regular performance reports to support business reviews and decision-making.
- Identify performance gaps and provide data-driven recommendations for plan optimization.
4. Coordinate shopper marketing and activation planning
- Support the development of national-level shopper marketing and brand promotion plans across offline and eCommerce channels.
- Help build and maintain the integrated activation calendar, ensuring alignment across brand priorities, customer plans and channel execution windows.
- Coordinate cross-functional communication to ensure activation readiness, timely execution and post-campaign review.
- Summarize key learnings from activation performance and translate insights into future planning improvements.
5. Enable cross-functional planning routines and governance
- Support regular omni-channel planning routines, including preparation of meeting materials, KPI updates, issue tracking and follow-up actions.
- Work as a key coordination point across Marketing, Trade Marketing, Sales and other relevant stakeholders to improve planning discipline and execution consistency.
- Escalate key risks, dependencies and decision needs to the Omni-Channel Planning Director with clear analysis and proposed options.
About You
Essential
- 8+ years of experience in commercial planning, trade marketing, category management, shopper marketing, sales strategy or related roles, preferably in an MNC environment.
- Strong understanding of China’s omni-channel landscape, including offline retail, eCommerce, O2O and emerging digital commerce channels.
- Solid knowledge of category, shopper and channel dynamics, with the ability to translate insights into practical business plans.
- Strong analytical capability, including KPI tracking, performance review, promotion analysis and insights-to-action.
- Good project management and cross-functional coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive follow-through.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence peers and support senior stakeholder discussions.
- Good business acumen and attention to detail, with a structured approach to planning, execution tracking and problem solving.
- Comfortable working with data, dashboards and business performance tools to support decision-making.
Preferred
- Experience in consumer health, FMCG, retail, eCommerce or adjacent regulated environments.
- Experience supporting annual business planning, customer planning, category reviews or integrated activation planning.
- Exposure to both offline and eCommerce channel planning is preferred.
- Experience working in matrix organizations with Marketing, Sales and Trade Marketing teams.
