Products Business Line | Customer Delivery | Customer Delivery Andes
This role sits at the heart of our execution engine, ensuring seamless delivery of complex product and integration projects across the Andes region.
This position can be based in Chile or Peru, supporting projects across the Andes region (Chile & Peru), with additional exposure and collaboration on global projects.
You will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, sales, and international teams to deliver excellence to our customers.
Role Summary
As a Project Controller – Customer Delivery, you will be accountable for collects, analyses, and reports data related to the plan and schedule, cost control, engineering product control, progress monitoring, project information, and change management.
You will act as a close collaboration to project director, driving project financial and schedule monitoring and review to maintain project align to schedule, budget, and keep on track revenue plan and revenue recognition.
To provide support to project director identifying and managing risk, and building strong customer relationships between FLS support areas to maintain fluently in the distribution of information needed to compile overall status of project results and forecasts, directly impacting revenue, profitability, and internal stake holders satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Scope Management
The Project Controller collects, analyses, and reports data related to the plan and schedule, cost control, engineering product control, progress monitoring, project information, and change management. The project controls group should have the following responsibilities. The project will specify the appropriate personnel to fulfill these functions:
- Coordinate and manage all project control activities.
- OI Reporting – Creation of new projects and /or Change orders
- Provide aggregated project revenue and cost reporting, cash flow as well as project budgeting and planning, including POC forecasts. All according to Global Processes and accompanying guidelines.
- Follow up of financial aspects during execution together with Finance (Hedging Risks, Guarantee bonds, among others)
- Analysis and control of Project provisions (contingencies, and warranty)
- Collaborate with Project Director to identify potential issues between split of orders between different FLS entities. and is responsible to compile and consolidate the accuracy of financial results between all FLS entities for the corresponding global project ID collecting all related projects created in different FLS entities.
- To monitor progress in Labors and collaborate to Project director in Forecast Review.
- Is responsible with the project Director in the monthly update of internal reportability (CER Review), FCC and Global POC files between others needed by the project and/or FLS organization.
- Manage project changes using local engineering and business systems.
- Produce a timely project cost status/progress report for the project management team.
- To support to project director to prepare and monitoring Revenue Plan.
- Work close to scheduler in order to notify project director and project teams to take actions to assurance revenue recognition planned for current and further periods.
- Work close to Procurement Manager in order to verify and monitoring financial position in regards to budget and potential savings identification.
- Collaborate and make a cross check about update progress data.
- Generate preventative measures.
- Perform a schedule and cost risk analysis.
- Prepare a detailed data estimate, if required.
- Provide detailed deviation analysis particularly on critical and change management issues to the Project Managers
- Follow-up of change orders on projects (internally and externally, together with project manager)
- Follow up of invoicing milestones of project portfolio.
- Preparation and control of cash-flow of project portfolio.
Internal Stakeholder Interface:
- Participate in kick-off meeting (after contract signing) led by IOD Manager with SCM, Expeditor, Buyer, Logistics
- Collaborate with Project Director/Project Manager to prepare revenue plan and their continuously monitoring.
- Collaborate with Project Director/Project Manager to prepare monthly reportability for internal stakeholders (CER Review), FCC review and Global POC file.
- Interface with Procurement Manger, Sourcing Managers, Expediting and any internal collaborator to collect inputs needed for the revision of the progress, Financial Results and action needed to maintain align the revenue plan.
- Proactively identify and participate in Mitigation Risks Plans
Financial & Commercial Management
- Responsible to prepare and close collaboration for the review of Project Cost, Revenue, and Cash Flow performance
- To collaborate to Project Director/Project Manager to ensure accurate forecasting, invoicing, and margin protection
- Colaborate to maintain or improve contribution margin vs. as-sold baseline
Stakeholders & Customer Management
- Reports in Solid line to Project Director & Customer Delivery Head of the region.
- In Dotted line reporting to Project Control Organization
- Drive collaboration across Supply Chain, Engineering, Sales, and Product teams, assuring reportability and updated information to support Project Director and Client needs.
- Support Project Director during project reviews, reporting, and lessons learned tracking
KPIs & Success Metrics
- Revenue achievement vs. plan
- Accurate and on-time reporting on cost and financial status across projects
- Accurate Profitability Forecast on monthly basis
- On-time invoicing
- Accurate and on-time Project portfolio reporting
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- +10 years’ experience in a similar role within mining or heavy industry project environments
- Strong background in project execution, contract management, and customer-facing roles
- Advanced English (written and spoken)
- Proven experience in:
- Project Control
- FLS ERP system between different environment of FLS entities (Epicor, Oracle, between others)
- Risk management
- Project financials and accounting
