Job Description:
Performs manual and clerical duties related to the shipment and receipt of materials, supplies, equipment and finished products.
Job Responsibilities:
Day-to-day operations within the Logistics / Shipping group to include outgoing shipments, miscellaneous incoming receipts, as well as movements to support site operations
Assist in maintaining accurate inventory counts, apply SAP to determine materials needed
Manage warehouse space to apply space efficiently while ensuring safety and compliance is met
Support the receiving of miscellaneous receipts making sure they are processed, documented, and maintained in accordance with standard operating procedures, including the handling of temperature sensitive and hazardous materials and delivery to correct locations
Apply SAP to request and remove material from inventory
Review inventory levels
Perform cycle and inventory counts as directed
Maintain cGMP compliance to include labeling, FEFO, documentation, cleaning, etc
Maintain cross training between Logistics disciplines
Keep current on all required training
Prepare hazardous waste and materials for disposal in coordination with EH&S
Clean empty containers for recycling
Support preparation and packing of product and non- routine shipments
Be able to complete and follow all guidelines with 49CFR and IATA for HazMat and Dangerous Goods shipping
Work consistently with multiple departments across site and within the Thermo Fisher network to ensure shipments are scheduled and shipped accordingly
Work in various systems to organize and record shipments
Job Qualifications:
1-3 years’ experience in a warehouse or cGMP environment
High School Diploma or GED required
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook and Word)
Position requires mobility between buildings, including exposure to inclement weather
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Equipment/machinery/tools used may include forklifts, pallet jack, drum dolly, barrel hoist, strapping machine and company vehicles
Strong attention to detail
Strong customer service and communication skills
