Job Description Summary

Reporting to the C&W Philippines Country OIC, seconded to the Head of EHS, Asia, the Health and Safety Officer cum Corporate Nurse is key role in supporting the Health and Safety initiatives (planning and implementation) and providing a comprehensive healthcare service to employees within the workplace setting focusing on the Philippines.

The role is expected to spearhead all health and safety compliance initiatives and concerns, whilst acting as a corporate nurse for all C&W PH employees. The Safety Officer cum Corporate Nurse will be responsible in supporting the business by assisting, planning, designing, implementing, and communicating health and safety related policies.

Job Description

About the Role:

Health and Safety Officer

• Conduct workplace safety audits and risk assessments
• Spearhead development and implementation of health and wellness programs and initiatives such as health education workshops, fitness workshops, health awareness programs and the like
• Participate in OSH related meetings as secretariat of the safety committee
• Monitor and submit reportorial requirements on occupational health and safety compliance as required by the Department of Labor and Employment
• Ensure workplace compliance with relevant health and safety legislations, policies and regulations
• Develop and implement emergency response plans for calamities and health-related crises
• Develop and conduct basic occupational safety and health training and refresher courses

Corporate Nurse

• Responsible in conducting health assessments and screenings for employees
• Provide first aid and emergency care for employees while in Company premises and Company sanctioned activities
• Assist injured employees and accompany to the nearest HMO accredited hospital as needed
• Maintain accurate medical records of employees
• Assist the corporate physician in attending to sick employees, such as but not limited to issuing fit-to-work certifications to employees
• Manage chronic disease programs and support employees with ongoing health issues
• Promote a healthy lifestyle and wellness programs
• Provide assistance and basic counselling and support for employees experiencing mental health issues

About You:

• 3-5 years’ experience as a Health and Safety Officer with nursing experience, preferably in occupational health, employee health or related field
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
• Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) of the Philippines
• Basic Occupational Safety and Health Training Certified (Safety Officer III)
• With strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills is an advantage
