SALARY: £78,000 - £91,800
LOCATION(S): Bristol, Edinburgh, Halifax, Leeds or Birmingham
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.
What you’ll be doing
Would you like to be at the centre of the latest regulatory developments relevant to Lloyds Banking Group and our ability to grow, focus and change? Be it home ownership, payments, pensions or savings, our ability to serve customers is affected by a regulatory and political environment that is constantly evolving. Our team plays a key role in working with politicians, government departments, regulators and trade associations to shape the UK financial services policy environment.
Working in the team, as part of the wider Group Corporate Affairs function, you will help coordinate, develop and deliver the Group-wide regulatory policy strategy and influencing approach, with a particular focus on the consumer and conduct agenda. You’ll work collaboratively with Group-wide teams to identify and assess emerging regulatory developments at their infancy, to prioritise the issues that matter the most, and to devise effective advocacy strategies.
Day to day, you will:
Monitoring and assessing regulatory developments and trends.
Providing ‘air traffic control’ to avoid conflicting messages from different teams.
Coordinating efforts to define positions on high-impact developments, which maximise our influence.
Identifying and prioritising policy issues to maximise impact in line with the Group’s strategy.
Collaborating with teams across the business and critical support functions such as our risk, compliance, legal and corporate affairs teams to ensure insight gleaned from interactions with regulators informs our strategy.
Providing counsel to the leadership team and writing insightful and concise briefings to facilitate effective external engagement for senior leaders, including the chief executive.
Developing external relationships – such as HMT – to maintain an effective flow of dialogue and information. Maintaining engagement plans to ensure we maximise our engagement.
Drafting clear communications and policy opinions for consideration by seniors across the Group.
Working closely with a senior leadership team to cultivate a team of engaged, motivated professionals able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment across a range of changing issues.
