Senior Applied AI Software Engineer

Contexte du poste

We are looking for a high-caliber Senior Applied AI Software Engineer to join the Delight engineering team. Delight is a scrappy, founder-led team operating at startup velocity within Simpro.

This is not a maintenance role. You will own backend-heavy production systems and AI-driven workflows from day one, making real architectural decisions with real consequences. You must bring an aggressive ownership mindset, a bias for shipping, and the ability to thrive in ambiguity. You will work on AI-first systems that are embedded directly into core product workflows and used by customers every day. This is a high-autonomy, high-impact individual contributor role with direct influence on architecture, technical direction, and long-term system design.

Ce que vous ferez

Backend and API Ownership: Design, build, and operate production backend services and APIs in Python, owning systems end to end from architecture through production operation and ongoing evolution

AI-Enabled Systems: Build and run AI-driven workflows integrating large language models and agent-style architectures that power core product features used in production every day

Distributed Systems Architecture: Architect and operate distributed, asynchronous, event-driven systems, making trade-offs that balance performance, reliability, and delivery speed

Technical Leadership: Drive technical decisions, evaluate system-level risks, and actively shape engineering direction across multiple product areas

Full Stack Contribution: Contribute to frontend functionality when needed, with a clear and deliberate focus on backend system

Engineering Quality: Write high-quality, well-tested code and raise the engineering bar through code reviews, design influence, and close collaboration with product and design
