What You’ll Do

As a Manager of FDE, you’ll hit the ground running and make an immediate impact by driving high-visibility projects that push the business forward. You will play a key role in building scalable, user-friendly solutions that power critical business operations while architecting enhancements that drive growth and automate complex workflows. As a hands-on technical expert, you will solve complex technical challenges and leverage the full potential of Force.com to deliver high-impact results. You will manage agile pod velocity and quality by collaborating cross-functionally to design, develop, and optimize custom Salesforce applications that improve how we engage with our customers and drive revenue. Acting as a coach and mentor, you will provide the autonomy and support for your team to build real solutions with real impact, fostering an environment that values innovation and growth. Finally, you will serve as a bridge between technical and business functions, strategizing and analyzing work that shapes the future of the product and the company.

The Skills You'll Have

1. Hands-On Technical & Architectural Expertise (The "Player")
  • Design and deliver complex technical architectures on the Salesforce/Force.com platform to solve unique infrastructure challenges.
  • Directly engage in high-level solutioning and coding to ensure the scalability and performance of customer deployments.
  • Step in as a technical lead for high-stakes projects, ensuring architectural integrity and best practices.
2. Agile Pod Velocity & Quality Management
  • Manage a high-performing engineering pod, ensuring consistent sprint velocity and on-time delivery of features.
  • Implement rigorous quality assurance and code review standards to minimize technical debt and deployment errors.
  • Optimize internal processes and agile methodologies to increase team efficiency and project transparency.
3. Technical Mentorship & "Unblocking" (The "Coach")
  • Mentor junior and senior engineers, fostering their technical growth and professional development within the FDE organization.
  • Act as the primary escalation point to resolve complex technical blockers, ensuring the team remains productive and focused.
  • Create a culture of continuous learning by sharing architectural insights and technical best practices across the team.
4. Technical-to-Business Translation (TAM/BA Partnership)
  • Partner with Technical Account Managers (TAMs) and Business Analysts (BAs) to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Communicate technical constraints and possibilities clearly to non-technical stakeholders to manage expectations and drive value.
  • Bridge the gap between customer needs and engineering execution, ensuring every technical solution delivers measurable business impact.
