West Monroe is seeking an Experienced Consultant with an interest in M&A and a passion for technology to join our growing Merger & Carveout Services (MCS) team. This role supports Private Equity and Corporate clients across mergers, acquisitions, and divestiture/carve-out transactions with an IT lens. Focus areas include business applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and IT organization.

As an Experienced Consultant in our M&A practice, you will support clients through key phases of transactions, including due diligence and post-close integration or separation activities. You will build foundational skills in financial analysis, project management, and technology assessment while contributing to high-impact client outcomes.

Experienced Consultants within West Monroe have the following responsibilities:

Project Delivery

  • Support development of financial analyses to evaluate transaction impacts, including IT cost structures, cost synergies, and one-time separation or integration costs
  • Assist in building and maintaining cost models and contribute to analysis of key cost drivers
  • Conduct research and analysis of business applications (e.g., ERP, CRM, HRIS) to support application assessments and recommendations
  • Support technology workstreams (applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity) in merger or carveout engagements
  • Assist in development of Transition Service Agreements (TSAs), including gathering inputs and documenting assumptions
  • Help identify and document dependencies across people, process, and technology during transaction execution
  • Maintain project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet), including tracking workplans, risks, issues, and decisions
  • Support Day 1 readiness planning and post-close execution activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, legal, HR) to support transaction execution
  • Prepare client-ready deliverables and contribute to presentations for senior stakeholders
  • Work closely with team members to ensure high-quality, consistent outputs

Other Responsibilities

  • Contribute to development of internal tools, templates, and methodologies for M&A engagements
  • Support business development efforts through research, content development, and proposal support
  • Participate in internal initiatives and team-building activities
  • Actively seek feedback and contribute to a collaborative team environment

Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of experience in consulting, corporate strategy, transaction advisory, or relevant industry experience
  • Exposure to M&A, IT strategy, or technology transformation is preferred but not required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; familiarity with Excel and data analysis tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau) is a plus
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly present ideas and findings
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of project management concepts and tools
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, depending on client and project needs
  • Authorization to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship

Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below). Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
