Benefits Analyst
What you will be doing
Serve as the subject matter expert for US & Canada leave programs, including FMLA, state leave laws such as CA & MN PFL, ADA, and other company-specific policies.
Track leave requests, approvals, extensions, intermittent leave use, and return-to-work dates. Maintains accurate records in HR systems and uses reporting tools effectively.
Coordinate required notices, certifications, forms, and deadlines to meet federal, state, and internal requirements for leave reporting, payment, and workers compensation program.
Manages leave cases from intake through return-to-work with consistency, timeliness, and attention to detail.
Support the interactive process for accommodation-related leave cases and transition employees back to work when appropriate.
Escalate complex, disputed, or high-risk cases and partner with legal, benefits, and employee relations teams as needed.
Provides responsive, supportive, and empathetic service to employees and managers throughout the leave process.
Manages leave cases from intake through return-to-work with consistency, timeliness, and attention to detail.
Demonstrates knowledge of federal, state, and company leave laws and applies them accurately to employee cases.
Identifies opportunities to improve leave workflows, documentation, communication, and efficiency.
What you likely bring
2+ years applicable experience and demonstrated success/knowledge
Knowledge of employee benefits programs including medical, dental, and 401(k) plans in addition to absence management programs and policies.
Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Responds in a timely manner to requests for service and assistance.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with employees, managers, HR partners, payroll, and external vendors.
Handles sensitive medical and personal information appropriately and maintains strict confidentiality.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to meet strict deadlines.
