Job Summary

Leads sales, marketing, and architecture activities for the Public segment in a designated region. Adapts global strategies to regional needs and drives growth through innovative platforms and operational excellence.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Sets the vision and adapts the global strategy to meet specific regional market needs and dynamics for the "One Public" segment (Systems & Services and Professional Public teams)

  • Achieves targets related to revenue, profit margins, and sales productivity efficiencies through effective management and strategy implementation.

  • Builds and executes a comprehensive plan to win business and leads new growth platforms such as Solar, targeting customers and the full ecosystem including specifiers within the segment.

  • Drives a strict operational cadence including regular forecast reviews, funnel management, customer visits, and enhancement of sales productivity.

  • Drives adoption of digital tools and platforms such as C4C and KAPs to optimize sales processes and customer engagement.

  • Delivers on all operational targets and initiatives that are agreed upon within the business framework.

  • Provides continuous feedback to Public Segment Managers regarding market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive insights to enhance offerings.

  • Manages controllable sell-ex in alignment with established targets to maximize sales effectiveness.

  • Drives high levels of customer satisfaction throughout the opportunity development process by ensuring quality engagement and responsiveness.

  • Ensures a smooth and effective handover of product opportunities to the local Professional team to maintain customer experience and project continuity.

  • Drives thought leadership initiatives focusing on connected lighting, IoT technologies, and enhances brand preference within relevant ecosystems.

  • Creates and sustains a relentless drive for growth within the segment, emphasizing the expansion of Connected solutions.

  • Builds and develops Systems & Services competencies across commercial excellence, technical expertise, and digital capabilities.

  • Leads and develops the regional sales team to consistently meet or exceed business objectives and performance standards.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to align product development and marketing strategies with evolving customer needs and market trends.


Critical Experiences

  • Educational Background: A Master's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, or a closely related field that equips candidates with a robust understanding of commercial strategy, market dynamics, and business innovation.

  • Professional Experience: A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible leadership roles in sales management within the public sector, with demonstrated success in driving systems and services sales, crafting strategic plans, and fostering strong customer relationships. Experience in international marketing or end-user marketing is highly desirable, as it provides valuable insights into diverse market landscapes. Prior experience managing cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams is strongly preferred.

  • Leadership and People Management Skills: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage teams across different regions and cultures, fostering collaboration and achieving results in a dynamic, global environment.

  • Certifications and Skillsets: Relevant professional certifications in sales management or strategic account management are crucial for driving effective sales operations and implementing modern digital sales processes. Knowledge of project management principles or a PMP certification is highly advantageous, as it provides a deeper understanding of project ecosystems and criteria for success in complex business environments.

  • Additional Competencies: Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills, coupled with a strategic mindset and the ability to adapt to evolving market conditions. A track record of leveraging data-driven decision-making to optimize sales performance and exceed targets is highly valued.
