This role is located in Melbourne, FL. This position is fully onsite with no remote work available.
Essential Functions:
Proficiency in Finite Element Modeling (FEM/FEA) using tools like NASTRAN, or ANSYS.
Key skills include understanding solid mechanics, fatigue, and damage tolerance, often with experience in composite materials and CAD software.
Strong knowledge of classical structural analysis techniques, including free body diagrams, statics, mechanics of materials, and structural dynamics.
You may be required to attend or present at internal program, customer and/or supplier technical exchange meetings and/or formal program milestone reviews to provide and/or obtain progress status updates.
Selected candidates should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.
Candidates must be self-starters capable of flourishing in an environment with minimal direction.
This role may be filled as a SR Principal Engineer (Level 4) or Staff Engineer (Level 5) based on the qualifications outlined below.
Basic Qualifications:
For Level 2: Must have a Bachelor's in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 8 years of experience in the design and integration of equipment OR a Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 6 years of experience in the design and integration of equipment.
Active In-Scope DoD Secret clearance.
Ability to obtain and maintain Active In-Scope DoD Top Secret clearance.
Supplier Management Team (SMT) experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
An active DoD Top Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
Experience with the design, analysis and integration of environmental control systems.
Software tools experience with NX and/or CPLM
Experience interpreting component detail drawings, specifications, installation drawings, and test procedures.
Experience writing/reviewing technical documents: SSOWs, SRDs, ICDs, SDRL reviews, etc.
Experience in leading, mentoring, and developing multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver complex technical solutions, within cost and schedule constraints, across the various phases of the engineering lifecycle.
