About the Team

As part of the next generation of software application engineers, you will craft and develop high-quality, large scale enterprise cloud solutions, in an agile environment. You will collaborate with software architects, product managers, and other partners to deliver solutions crafted to meet the needs of today's large global businesses. Development is all done in the cloud, on a single codeline, through a continuous development model.

Workday Expenses is expanding and investing in an exciting new Product - Workday Travel and we are now hiring Engineers to help us deliver on very ambitious timelines across the expanded Travel & Expenses Portfolio.

Workday Expenses is on a multi-year journey to replace complex, manual reporting with a simple, automated, bespoke, consumer-grade experience on both desktop and mobile. The recently launched Workday Expense Management SKU combines an intuitive, experience with enterprise-grade AI and real-time controls and is a major milestone for Expenses end users (Submitters). We now have ambitious plans to continue building on this to deliver a truly world class Expenses Product.

Workday Travel is a new ambitious strategic initiative to build a native, AI-first travel booking experience embedded directly within the Workday platform. These new capabilities to book flights, hotels and car rentals will flow seamlessly through to our Expenses Platform to deliver a modern, automated, seamless end-to-end Customer Experience.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced engineer to collaborate in fast paced agile environment. You will be required to:

• Design, develop and deliver enterprise grade solutions.
• Develop an OO product in a metadata driven development environment
• Write and maintain proven, robust, efficient and maintainable code using an OO framework and tools
• Write reliable unit, integration, and system level tests that will run on our CD pipeline.
• Mentor and learn from other team members through pairing, code reviews, knowledge shares, hackathons, etc.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to drive technical initiatives.

About You

Basic Qualifications:

• Views software development as a team activity, and thrives in a highly collaborative, agile culture that prioritises teaching and learning.
• 4+ years experience developing performant, scalable and resilient applications.
• Proven experience with one or more Object Oriented languages, such as Java, C#, C++, Scala ...etc.
• Highly collaborative with colleagues across various functions and experience levels.
• Passionate about agile software development.
• Passionate about building scalable, performant and highly resilient Enterprise Business Applications.
• Ability to adapt and deliver on time
• Strong understanding of the value of automated tests at all levels of the testing pyramid.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under tight deadlines where customer first is a key principle for success

Other Qualifications:

• Team Leadership and/or Agile leadership experience.
• Experience with Integration technologies such as REST API
• Exposure to modern UI technologies such as React.
• Metadata driven definitional development experience.

Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
