Job’s mission
As an Engineering Technician II within ASM’s Demonstration Lab team at our Phoenix R&D site, you play a critical role in keeping advanced semiconductor equipment operating safely, reliably, and at peak performance. Your work directly supports research and development activities, enabling engineers to validate new technologies and process improvements. This role offers hands‑on exposure to cutting‑edge tools in an environment that values technical ownership, structured problem‑solving, and a strong safety‑first mindset.
This role requires flexibility to work either a standard day shift (Monday–Friday, 7/8 a.m.–4/5 p.m.) or swing shift (3 p.m.–12 a.m.), with one Saturday every 4–6 weeks.
What you will be working on
- Performing major preventive maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
- Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and leak‑checking issues to restore system functionality.
- Diagnosing and resolving temperature‑related issues across complex equipment systems.
- Cleaning, inspecting, and maintaining parts to ensure consistent, optimal performance.
- Applying operational standards and training new team members on routine tasks and best practices.
- Identifying potential risks and proposing minor improvements to enhance equipment safety and reliability.
- Conducting root‑cause analysis using structured methods such as 5 Whys and implementing corrective actions.
- Creating clear, concise problem statements to support efficient troubleshooting and resolution.
- Anticipating common wear parts and maintaining accurate maintenance and part‑replacement records.
What we are looking for
- Technical school diploma or associate degree from a two‑year program in Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field, or at least three years of progressively responsible, hands‑on experience supporting, maintaining, or troubleshooting complex technical or semiconductor equipment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills in a technical environment.
- Proven ability to perform root‑cause analysis and drive corrective actions independently.
- Experience with preventive maintenance practices and maintenance documentation standards.
- Basic computer skills for logging, tracking, and reporting maintenance activities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a fast‑paced R&D environment.
What sets you apart
- Experience working with semiconductor manufacturing or R&D equipment.
- Comfort operating in a laboratory or high‑tech environment with shifting priorities.
- Proactive mindset for identifying improvement opportunities and reducing recurring equipment issues.
- Flexibility to support day or swing shifts, including occasional Saturdays.
Apply today to be part of what’s next.
We make the tech that enables the chips in devices which improve lives around the world. We do this with an eye to the future, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible through cutting-edge innovation, and driving the next wave of technological breakthroughs that shape how we live, work, and connect.
