Job Description
The Lean Systems Coach will report to the Lean Systems Manager and will be responsible for supporting the development & implementation of the Lucid Production System’s lean manufacturing programs. This includes taking a hands-on, on-the-shop floor role in driving Lean manufacturing culture, continuous improvement, cost optimization, Problem Solving, standardization, cost optimization & other tools. The Lean Systems Coach will work with team members from all levels of the organization to support and lead projects to improve safety, minimize production issues and costs, and enhance vehicle quality. They will develop, implement, and maintain tools, systems, and training needed to optimize engagement in the operations performance continuous improvement.
You Will:
- Ensure Lucid Production System principles are implemented across all operational areas
- Optimize employee engagement in all Lucid Production System’ programs
- Assist in eliminating roadblocks to Continuous Improvement
- Train and coaching, all levels and functions in lean principles and their applications
- Facilitates LPS program review meetings
- Conduct layered audits and process reviews
- Lead and support departmental Gemba walks
- Monitor departmental performance and analyze data to identify focused opportunities for reducing costs and improving productivity, utilization, and quality
- Support Manufacturing initiatives that ensure factory performance objectives are met in all key performance areas
- Develop, implement, and maintain Lean tools, systems, and procedures for lean programs, with a current emphasis on problem solving, performance management, continuous improvement, 6S (5S plus Safety), and standardization
- Champion regular Kaizen workshops with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement opportunities
- Utilize Business Process Automation tools to ensure proper monitoring for the operation performance
- Manage work instruction software and ensure standard compliance beside authoring and control needed changes
You Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required Industrial, Mechanical, Production Engineering preferred
- 3+ years of related experience required
- Experience working in a automotive OEM required
- Automotive Manufacturing continuous improvement experience, Relative Lean role experience is a plus
- Learn manufacturing principles, well versed in both theory and hands on practice
- Motivation with excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Skilled in coaching/mentoring in on-the-job application of new skills
- Ability to lead without authority
- Knowledge of production processes, costs, quality controls, logistics, and other areas of manufacturing
- Knowledge of TPM, Autonomous Maintenance, Preventative Maintenance or similar maintenance programs
- Kaizen Event Facilitation
- Solid problem-solving background, including but not limited to 8D methodology
- Lean tools techniques such as time studies, data analysis, capacity analysis, work instructions
- Strong presentation development skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
