Job Description

Position Summary:   

To maintain proper control and cleaning of the entire plant to ensure all products are produced in a hygienically clean facility. Willing and capable of being professionally trained and will assist the department leaders in their efforts to build a sustainable team and sanitation program. Capable of assisting with the critically important task of cleaning the line and facility to ensure products are produced on clean equipment, in a hygienic environment. Being the change agent that makes the facility and company better. Capable and totally committed to assisting the department & company meet or exceed compliance expectations.  

The duties of the Sanitation Tech I are noted but not limited to the following, and candidate will be required to perform all requested duties in order to meet the business needs: 

  1. Must be able to safely perform elevated cleaning responsibilities using ladders, man lifts, platforms, and articulating lifts.  
  1. Must be able to work in cold, wet, hot, dusty, slippery, and/or closed space areas for extended periods of time. 
  1. Must have the ability and dexterity to clean all types of surfaces from various positions and angles. For example, underneath, above or inside. 
  1. Must have mechanical ability to use small hand tools and equipment as needed, e.g., pressure washers, steam cleaners, mechanic tools/wrenches and powered tools.  
  1. Must be able to consistently complete all sanitation tasks and responsibilities to compliance expectations with limited supervision. 
  1. Must be able to manage cleaning and sanitizing chemicals while wearing proper PPE. 
  1. Must be able to lift and carry 70lbs. continuously throughout an entire shift, and sustain frequent lifting, bending, balancing, and reaching. 
  1. Must be able to flex schedule to consistently ensure business needs are met and have excellent work ethic. 
  1. Must be able to follow instructions. 
  1. Must be able to use good judgment ensuring sanitation responsibilities are performed and completed to meet compliance expectations.  
  2. Continuously demonstrates an elevated level of sense of responsibility, professionalism, good interpersonal skills, communicates well, dependable, trustworthy, a team player and clearly understands the need for urgency. 

Required: 

  1. Perform the seven steps of excellent sanitation using the 4 essential factors. 
  1. Learn and sustain the concepts of the 5S methodology. 
  2. Maintain tools and equipment properly so they are always in good working condition (examples: man lifts, pressure washers & floor scrubbers). 

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Tech l – after 90 days on the job, must clearly understand the principles of the 7 steps of sanitation & 3743 and personally make them your best practices.

Requirements – Education/Skills/Knowledge 

  • High school diploma, G.E.D or extensive previous knowledge in food manufacturing sanitation.
