Principal Test Development Engineer, P5

About the Role
The Principal Test Development Engineer will lead test development for China Business Unit products in ADI Philippines, with primary responsibility for GMSL programs on the SPEA platform and broader technical support across Optical Control and Automotive products. This role is ideal for a senior engineer who stays close to the technical work while helping elevate the capability of the wider team. You will drive test architecture, development, debug, and deployment across product development, qualification, and manufacturing, while improving engineering execution through stronger methods, faster problem resolution, and hands-on technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities and Skills

  • Hands-On Test Development: Lead the design, bring-up, debug, and optimization of hardware and software test solutions for GMSL and other CBU programs, from early development through qualification and production release
  • Advanced Debug and Root Cause Resolution: Own complex silicon, hardware, software, and tester issues, using data-driven analysis to identify root causes and implement durable corrective actions
  • Automation and Methodology Improvement: Drive improvements in test methodologies, automation frameworks, and diagnostic flows to improve yield, reduce test time, and increase overall FFC across development and production
  • GMSL and Platform Expertise: Provide strong technical depth in testing GMSL and other high-speed interface products, including implementation and optimization on the SPEA platform
  • Cross-Functional and Cross-Site Execution: Partner closely with design, product engineering, validation, reliability, quality, manufacturing, and regional teams in ADI Philippines and the China Business Unit to resolve issues, align priorities, and maintain delivery momentum
  • Technical Mentorship and Communication: Mentor junior engineers through technical coaching, design reviews, and structured problem solving, while communicating technical issues, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly across local and regional stakeholders

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in test development, product engineering, validation, or a related discipline
  • Experience in semiconductor product development and manufacturing environments
  • Experience supporting Optical Control, Automotive, or high-speed interface product portfolios
  • Experience in test development on ATE platforms including Teradyne UltraFLEX, Eagle ETS, and SPEA
  • Experience supporting cross-site or cross-regional engineering teams
