We are currently looking for an experienced Credit Controller.
Role summary
As the Credit Controller you will be accountable for managing higher‑risk customer portfolios and complex credit decisions across the order‑to‑cash cycle. The role focuses on advanced credit assessments, approval of higher exposure limits, and resolution of complex or non‑standard credit situations that sit beyond routine Credit Operations activities. In addition to direct credit decision‑making, the Credit Controller contributes to the continuous improvement and automation of credit processes to strengthen controls, efficiency, and SOX compliance.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in Credit Management or Finance
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or Accounting
- Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Cash Flow Statement)
- Experience with reporting, data analysis, or automation
- Strong attention to detail and risk‑control mindset
- Advanced written and verbal English; additional European languages are an advantage
- Confident communicator able to engage and challenge stakeholders on risk‑related decisions
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced financial analysis of customer financial statements to assess creditworthiness and sustainability
- Assess and approve new customer credit risks requiring higher authority or enhanced scrutiny
- Define, approve, and adjust credit limits within higher delegated thresholds
- Evaluate and decide on non‑standard commercial terms from a credit risk and compliance perspective
- Own credit risk management for complex, high‑value, or higher‑risk customer accounts
- Take credit decisions beyond standard Credit Operations authority, including higher credit limits and elevated risk profiles
- Review and decide on orders placed on credit hold due to overdue exposure or credit limit breaches
- Approve or reject credit releases based on in‑depth risk analysis and policy compliance
- Monitor customer exposure, payment behavior, and early risk indicators for complex portfolios
- Initiate risk mitigation actions for deteriorating accounts, including limit reductions, stricter terms, or account deactivation
- Ensure credit decisions, risk assessments, and approvals are fully documented and audit‑ready in line with SOX requirements
- Conduct and sign off annual credit reviews for higher‑risk customers
- Act as escalation point for complex credit cases originating from Credit Operations
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives in credit management, including simplification, standardization, and automation of credit assessment and approval workflows
- Support the development of reporting, controls, and monitoring tools to improve visibility of credit exposure and risk
