We are hiring the Subsidiary Finance Lead for Microsoft South Africa. This role is a key role for the South African Subsidiary and will be part of the Country Leadership team. This role is accountable for executing all finance deliverables to enable sustainable long-term growth. As the country Finance Lead, you have the opportunity to impact business results and operational effectiveness across a breadth of functions and foster business-led compliance.

Responsibilities
Prioritize
- Advise business leaders on financial performance (revenue, AR, expenses) and P&L optimization to maximize ROI.
- Translate strategic targets into accountable budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation plans (including headcount).
- Lead financial planning cycles (budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning) supported by strong modeling and analysis.
- Track performance through KPIs, ensure reporting accuracy, and drive accountability for results.
- Generate actionable insights to inform decisions and improve operational efficiency.
Partnership
- Act as a strategic advisor to business and commercial leaders, shaping priorities and driving growth.
- Provide market, industry, and performance insights to influence decision-making.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration to resolve complex financial and operational challenges.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships to balance customer impact, sales enablement, and cost effectiveness.
- Influence senior leadership through clear financial narratives, scenarios, and recommendations.
Protect
- Ensure compliance with Microsoft financial, accounting, privacy, and ethical standards.
- Maintain strong financial controls, accounting policies, and reporting integrity across all operations.
- Partner with audit teams and oversee regulatory, statutory, and reporting requirements.
- Promote a culture of compliance, risk awareness, and accountability across the organization.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
- OR equivalent experience.
- Office presence of 3 days per week.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in multinational, matrix-based organizations, with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.
• Eperience in the technology or software industry.
