Your Role
Gensler Phoenix is currently seeking an experienced Technical Designer (Job Captain) with a successful track record and well-rounded, broad architectural background with project experience in multiple typologies, including, but not limited to workplace, hospitality and multifamily. In this position, you will collaborate with a team of designers and architects to produce technical documentation and communicate project progress to team members, ensuring our projects exceed client expectations.
What You Will Do
Produce accurate technical and contract documentation for construction projects
Provide project team coordination for incorporating design intent into construction documentation, assign tasks, and lead technical drawings
Participate in construction administration, evaluate bids, conduct site visits, address technical issues and maintain quality control during construction
Coordinate and direct consultants, specification writers to meet overall project objectives
Collaborate with Contractors, Fabricators and Regulatory Agencies /3rd party teams
Utilize hand sketches and 3D software, and Revit to communicate design concepts
Your Qualifications
5 – 10 years of related professional experience
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field
Experience in leading workplace, hospitality and multifamily projects preferred
Experience with base building and/or build to suits required, with interiors experience preferred
Knowledge of building codes, standards, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, building structures, specifications, construction techniques and building envelopes a plus
Knowledge of sustainable design strategies
Experience in construction document preparation and Construction Administration
Strong leadership, organizational, verbal and written communication, and relationship management skills
Proficiency in Revit required; and experience in AutoCad, Adobe CS, Rhinoceros, SketchUp, and other 3D modeling software a plus
On the path to licensure preferred
