To support our continued growth, we’re hiring a Manager of Quality Engineering to manage and lead our quality engineering team. The QE Manager and team will work cohesively with the other product scrum teams, and will become a subject matter expert of our entire product ecosystem. This position requires someone intimately familiar with quality assurance and release management practices in a lean agile environment who can ensure the delivery of complex projects in a timely manner.
You’ll report to our Director of Product Engineering, but will work closely with other Engineering Managers to ensure our development teams stay on task and have the resources needed to deliver projects in a timely manner. This position requires excellent communication skills as they will be collaborating closely with other stakeholders (PMs, BizOps, Architecture, Platform). We need someone who has been a strong quality engineering manager growing from a quality engineer background themselves, has exposure to concepts and tools like CI/CD, Test Automation, AI integration, and Source Control (GitLab/GitHub), and has experience testing and releasing highly scalable, resilient, and distributed applications.
Eligible candidates have and can work successfully in a small to mid-sized fast-paced, hyper-growth, SaaS start-up or scale-up. This is a full-time role for candidates near the Greater Tampa Bay who are willing to work from our Westchase, FL office 5 days a week.

In this role, you will:
- Manage 7+ quality engineers on one QE team that collaborates with other product scrum teams
- Assist in managing product backlog, sprints, and deliveries of our product scrum teams in a lean agile environment
- Be a QE leader within your team and at DNSFilter as a whole
- Collaborate with other engineering managers and leaders to ensure delivery of new features and enhancements
- Provide the team with coaching, training, opportunities to learn and develop, and consistently deliver feedback on performance
- Tackle additional tasks outside of your core specialization to meet the team’s commitments
- Participate in interviews
To qualify for this role, you have:
- 3+ years of experience leading teams working on different areas of an application (on-prem solutions, cloud-based, OS specific software development)
- You have a strong knowledge of Windows and Mac developments, as well as iOS and Android
- Proven experience as a Manager of Quality Engineering, successfully leading and managing other Quality Engineers
- A strong understanding of Agile development, specifically Scrum and Kanban
- Excellent ability to translate business strategy and product requirements into a testable action plan and quality engineering deliverables
- Demonstrated experience in hiring, coaching, and developing engineering talent
- You are comfortable communicating across departments and tackling complex projects with your peers
- You have a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Positive and proactive mindset, identifying problems and presenting solutions
