About the role

The Institute for Engagement + Negotiation (IEN) is seeking to hire two SRAs (graduate or undergraduate) to support work on the Sustainable Food Collaborative (SFC). The SFC, a subset of the UVA Sustainability Committee, is a collaboration across several university entities connected with the campus food system.

The SRAs will work with the project team to perform the following tasks:

  • Attendance and support for project team meetings and workshops through notetaking, preparation of materials, meeting scheduling, and communications. 
  • Leading small group discussions and meetings.
  • Communicating with members around upcoming events and supporting and tracking work groups and their goals. 
  • Working with project leads and partners on developing, coordinating, and supporting marketing for relevant events. 
  • Maintaining file organization for SFC; updating website; social media posts, and provide support for members as needed. 
  • SFC interns will support other IEN projects in similar capacities as needed.

This role will involve 10-15 hrs/wk during the academic year. The ideal candidates would be interested in continuing with the project through the summer and into the next academic year. The role is partially remote and also includes some in person meetings at our office (2400 Old Ivy Rd.) and on Grounds.

This position is open to all UVA students; however, graduate students are preferred.

Pay Rate: Undergrads: $17 Graduate Students $19-$21.

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
