Overview
The Civil Engineer (Design & Infrastructure) is responsible for the development of civil engineering designs, models, and drawings for infrastructure and site development projects. The role focuses on delivering accurate 2D/3D designs, supporting engineering calculations, and ensuring alignment with project requirements and standards.
Your role
- Develop detailed civil engineering drawings, plans, and 3D models using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or OpenRoads
- Generate and analyze existing ground and subsurface surfaces using survey data
- Design site grading, drainage systems, and earthworks, including volume calculations and quantity take-offs
- Prepare underground utilities and services layouts
- Interpret engineering concepts, sketches, and technical data to produce accurate design outputs
- Develop road alignments, profiles, and cross-sections for infrastructure projects
- Produce high-quality engineering drawings in accordance with project standards
- Support design coordination with civil engineers and multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure compliance with applicable engineering practices, standards, and procedures
- Assist in reviewing and refining design outputs to meet project objectives
About you
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (preferred) or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 5 years of experience in civil engineering design and drafting
- Strong experience in 2D and 3D design for: Site grading and earthworks, Drainage systems, Underground utilities, Road and infrastructure design
- Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, InRoads, or OpenRoads
- Ability to interpret survey data, maps, and engineering drawings
- Knowledge of civil engineering practices, standards, and design methodologies
- Experience in mining or industrial projects is an advantage
- Basic understanding of hydrology is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and fast-paced environment
