Job Responsibility:

• You will lead Valmet’s assigned categories within the Global Supply Scope, focusing on Pulp, Energy & Circularity, Packaging and Tissue, and Performance Parts.
• You collaborate with Business Areas to develop and maintain category strategies that align with overall business objectives and enhance Cost Competitive Countries (CCC) sourcing.
• You coordinate an international matrix team, blending commercial, technical, legal, and regional expertise to execute strategic initiatives.
• You manage key supplier relationships, acting as the main commercial contact to improve quality, delivery, and cost (QDC) while mitigating supply chain risks.
• You drive continuous improvement in sourcing tools and processes, ensuring compliance with ISO standards and transparent supplier data management.

Job Requirement:

• You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, economics, or a related field.
• You bring at least 5 years of experience in Category Management or Sourcing within the industrial sector and international organizations.
• You possess specific expertise in metal fabrication industry processes and supplier consolidation programs.
• You are fluent in English (written and verbal) and have a valid car driving license with willingness to travel.

You will need strong analytical and strategic acumen, with a cost-rationalization mindset to make data-driven procurement decisions. Your ability to manage geographically and culturally diverse matrix teams, combined with excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills, will be critical. You are self-motivated, innovative, and passionate about fostering psychological safety while driving performance.
