Operations Manager - Solid Waste

About the Role
GFL Environmental is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our Solid Waste operations in the Cumberland region. This role will oversee multiple service lines and play a key role in operational performance, safety, customer service, and contract management.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage day-to-day operations for the Cumberland solid waste division
Oversee multiple service lines including commercial, small residential, strata/condo, apartment, and portable waste services.
Provide direct leadership to operations staff including drivers, supervisors, and support personnel.
Ensure all operations comply with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
Monitor operational performance including routing efficiency, service quality, and cost management.
Support contract management and operational readiness related to roll-off services and upcoming contract opportunities.
Collaborate with regional leadership and teams based in Victoria to align operational goals and strategy.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
5+ years of operations leadership experience, ideally within the waste, transportation, logistics, or environmental services industry.
Demonstrated experience managing field operations and frontline teams.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Experience managing multi-line service operations is considered an asset.
Knowledge of waste industry operations, roll-off services, or portable sanitation services is preferred.
