Procurement Buyer

This role is responsible for supporting and executing procurement buying activities across EQ, ensuring alignment with established policies, procedures, and best practice standards. The role demands a proactive, self-driven, and target-oriented individual with strong ownership, resilience, and a positive, solution-focused approach.

The Procurement Buyer will be accountable for delivering efficient and compliant buying processes by leveraging procurement technologies and systems, while ensuring adherence to EQ’s procurement and governance frameworks. This includes active management of end-to-end purchase requests, continuous process improvement, and driving operational excellence in buying activities. Procurement buying at EQ involves structured processes such as requisitioning, supplier engagement, and purchase execution to ensure value, compliance, and timely delivery.

A key responsibility of the role is the effective handling of ServiceNow (or equivalent) tickets and procurement service requests, ensuring timely triaging, accurate resolution, and adherence to agreed SLAs and KPIs. The role holder will act as a central point of coordination to manage stakeholder queries, track requests, and maintain high levels of service delivery.

In addition, the jobholder will be responsible for supporting software and license management activities, including tracking renewals, monitoring usage, coordinating with IT and vendors, and ensuring compliance with licensing terms and contractual obligations. The role will contribute to cost optimisation by ensuring effective utilisation and governance of licences.

The role holder will deliver excellent customer service by understanding business requirements, proactively addressing stakeholder concerns, and ensuring swift and effective resolution of issues. They will be accountable for meeting defined targets, efficiency metrics, service levels, and internal satisfaction benchmarks, whilst ensuring maximised adoption and utilisation of procurement tools and systems.

Working closely with the Manager, the jobholder will continuously seek opportunities to improve processes, enhance controls, and drive standardisation across procurement buying activities.

Building strong working relationships across the Procurement team and wider business is essential. The role requires flexibility, collaboration, and a team-oriented mindset to support broader team objectives and contribute to the overall success of the procurement function.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Providing help desk services (via teams, email and systems like ServiceNow) to support front line business with procurement enquiries or problems, resolving issues.
• License Management and Reconciliation.
• Managing centralised requisition and purchase order processes (front end P2P services), including providing an order on behalf of service for key stakeholders.
• Creating receipts on Workday to ensure a smooth payment to Supplier invoices
• Responsible for uploading the contracts in contracts database
• Producing procurement management information (performance, compliance etc.) to the Procurement Team and the business, via a range of sophisticated dashboards
• Managing the supplier onboarding and due diligence process (issue, follow up and close) in line with policy.
• Managing the invoice related queries with accounts payable team
