Job Description

With a career at The Home Depot, you can be yourself and also be part of something bigger.

Position Purpose:

The Manager – Automation & Enablement is responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and delivering low code and no code automation solutions that simplify Store Operations processes, reduce manual effort, and accelerate business processes and drive productivity gains across store operations teams.

This role is responsible for driving Store Ops automation strategy execution, leveraging platforms such as Microsoft PowerApps, Power Automate, and emerging low code / AI enabled tools. The manager proactively catalogs manual, error prone workflows involving hand offs, approvals, and repetitive tasks; assigns business value and priority; and leads cross functional alignment to automate those processes end to end.

In addition to solution delivery, this role is responsible for executing governance practices, maintaining platform integrity, and driving continuous improvement — ensuring tools remain stable, scalable, secure, and aligned to Store Operations priorities while enabling others to build responsibly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 20% - Automation Intake, Assessment, & Prioritization - Systematically identify and document Store Operations workflows that rely on manual hand offs, approvals, or repetitive effort and are prone to delay or error. Quantify business value for each opportunity (e.g., time savings, error reduction, cycle time improvement, associate experience) and establish a clear prioritization framework. Maintain a transparent automation backlog aligned to Store Ops priorities and capacity.
  • 10% - Continuous Improvement & Innovation - Lead continuous improvement of existing automations by analyzing performance data, adoption metrics, and user feedback to identify enhancement opportunities. Stay current on advancements in low code, no code, and AI enabled automation technologies and support evaluation of potential use cases in Store Operations. Surface recommendations for enhancements or new capabilities that increase efficiency, usability, or impact of existing solutions
  • 10% - Cross-functional Leadership - Lead, coach, and develop direct reports or dotted line contributors supporting automation delivery. Ensure high standards for solution quality, documentation, and business alignment
  • 10% - Enablement, Training & Capability Building - Educate and coach Store Ops partners and analysts on low code automation concepts, tools, and best practices. Enable safe “citizen development” where appropriate, while maintaining governance and quality standards. Develop documentation, playbooks, and reusable components to accelerate adoption and consistency
  • 15% - Governance, Platform Compliance & Risk Management - Support and execute established governance standards for Store Operations automation efforts, ensuring adherence to requirements for security, documentation, scalability, and change control. Apply defined guardrails and best practices in solution design and delivery to reduce duplication, technical debt, or unmanaged risk. Ensure automation solutions remain functional, compliant, and relevant through ongoing monitoring, maintenance, and lifecycle support in alignment with established governance frameworks
  • 35% - Low Code / No Code Solution Delivery - Design, build, and deploy automation solutions using platforms such as PowerApps, Power Automate, and other approved low code / AI enabled tools. Partner cross functionally with Store Ops leaders, IT, Security, and other support teams to ensure requirements, data access, and controls are aligned. Own end to end delivery from concept through production release, adoption, and stabilization
